LSM Insurance Supports Bowling for Lupus

LSM Insurance Supports Bowling for Lupus

Strikes, spares and gutter balls were all in good fun and for a good cause on February 7, 2014.  That was the date of the first Lupus/LSM Charity Bowling Event.

“LSM Insurance is extremely proud to be working with Lupus Ontario and sponsoring the inaugural Lupus/LSM charity bowling event,” said LSM President Chantel Marr.  “They are terrific group of people who are working hard every day to try and improve the quality of life of people living with Lupus.”

For a minimum donation of $35, participants competed for prizes such as:

– The top single game score
– The team with the best overall score
– The team with the lowest score
– And the difficult- to-achieve “turkey,” which is bowling three strikes in a row

The event, which LSM Insurance was proud to sponsor, raised over $2,000.  LSM Insurance matched the first $500 raised.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own immune system.  The resulting inflammation is painful and can cause significant damage to the body’s tissues and organs.  Symptoms are controlled through regular doctor visits, rest, exercise and medication.  The exact cause of Lupus is unknown.

As an insurance brokerage firm, LSM Insurance deals with hundreds of policies involving critical illness; therefore, they are no strangers to the financial and emotional devastation caused by a disease such as Lupus.  A proactive company, LSM meets the challenges of serious illnesses head on by providing education and information about how insurance greatly eases the financial burden and by raising money for charitable organizations that have pledged to fight these diseases.

LSM Insurance greatly looks forward to the next Lupus/LSM charity bowling event.  Watch for details as the event time draws near.

This was a great event. The bowling alley was a little busy – but lots of fun. Hopefully next year we can make this even bigger and you can rent the whole alley.

Would you consider doing an event for our daughter’s Volleyball team when are based in Markham. We have a lot of support from the parents but we would could use someone to help promote the event. Nothing huge but any help would be much appreciated.
